Planning Stage:

Task 1:

(Brainstorming ideas)

  1. What's favorite animal?
  2. What does it look like?
  3. Where does it live?
  4. Is it an endangered species?

Task 2:

Match the following pictures of animals with their names. Then, put them in the correct category in the table that follows:

Task 3:

  1. First you' ll be assigned to a group of four.
  2. As a group choose one of the animals of the previous task you want to learn more.
  3. Search the net for information about the animal of your choice.
  4. You need to find the following information about your animal:
  • Name and scientific name
  • Habitat (where does it live?)
  • Does it live in Greece? If yes, where?
  • What does it look like? (color, size, length, weight)
  • Does it lay eggs or give birth to babies?
  • Is it an endangered animal? If yes, what are the dangers it faces?
     5.Tasks will be divided among group members:

Member 1:

Name, scientific name, whether it lays eggs or gives birth to babies & some pictures of this animal.

Member 2:

Habitat, if this animal lives in Greece & some pictures of this animal.

Member 3:

What does it look like? (color, size, length, weight) & some pictures of this animal.

 Member 4:

The dangers this animal faces & some pictures of this animal.

DON'T FORGET TO KEEP NOTES WHILE READING!!!!!




Implementation Stage:

Task 4:

    It is the International Day of Wild Animals and you want to inform the other students of your school about the life of your chosen, wild animal. Visit the Windows Movie Maker program in your computer and with your partners create a digital story where you will describe the life of the animal of your group. You will use the information and pictures you have found in the previous task.

Steps to follow:


1.    Create a folder on the desktop where you can store the materials you find. 
2.    Select the images you would like to use for your digital story.
3.    Select the audio you would like to use for your digital story.
4.  Select the content and text you would like to use for your digital story.
5.   Prepare a STORYBOARD for your digital story.
6.    Write a SCRIPT that will be used as narration in your digital story.
7.    Finalize your digital story by saving it as a Windows Media Video (.wmv) file.


Task 5:

    Have you finished? Now, upload your digital story in our blog!



Task 6:

Create your own material!!
Write some questions for those who will read your story just under the link of your story!!



Task 7:

Now, enter our blog and read the story of another group. Then, publish your comments!!!

These questions may help you:

  • Is all the necessary information given?
  • Is all the information related? Are words like: and, but, also, too etc. being used?
  • Are there grammar or syntax mistakes? (correct tense? correct word order?)
  • What did you like the most? The least?
  • Are there representative pictures and sound that accompany the story?



Evaluation Stage:

Task 8:

 Now, that you have finished your work, take a minute and reflect on the whole process!
